What’s Geo-Fencing?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Geo-Fencing is a location-based technology feature that permits you to specify the delivery area where your store can serve. Geo-Fencing assists you in maintaining a fast shipping delivery with an accurate time.<\/p>\n

Hence, geo-fencing is a delivery-focused feature<\/strong> that allows you to draw the map manually to specific streets or areas to which your store covers.<\/p>\n

Here’s an example of the geofencing feature<\/strong>.
\nA restaurant owner who has four branches in four different areas; New Cairo, Tahrir Square, Heliopolis, and Maadi.<\/p>\n

In the New Cairo<\/em> branch, for instance, he wishes to specify the delivery service area, eliminating some relatively remote roads.<\/p>\n

By then, he’ll use the Geo-Fencing feature to draw a manual map with precise roads highlighted as demonstrated in the following steps.<\/p>\n

This feature will also direct customers to abide by these pinned areas on their map on the checkout page.<\/p>\n

How to Add Google Map API Key<\/strong><\/h3>\n

To activate the geo-fencing feature, you need to add your Google Maps API Key, follow the below steps:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. To add your Google Maps API key<\/strong>, by clicking on “Store Settings<\/strong>“<\/li>\n
  2. Then click on “Store Identity<\/strong>“<\/li>\n
  3. Then, paste your Google Maps API Key. <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>The example is demonstrated in the below picture.<\/em><\/em>\"\"<\/li>\n
  4. To get your API key, head to your account on “Google Cloud Platform<\/strong>“<\/li>\n
  5. Get back to this Google tutorial video here<\/a><\/li>\n
  6. Paste the Google Maps API Key in your zVendo store<\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. Scroll down, and activate the “Deny Out of area delivery<\/strong>“\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Activate Geo-Fencing Feature<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Follow the below steps for activating the geofencing feature:<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. From your store dashboard at zVendo, click on “Store Configuration<\/strong>“<\/li>\n
    2. Click on “Store Settings<\/strong>“<\/li>\n
    3. Click on “Shipping<\/strong>“<\/li>\n
    4. Click on “Cities<\/strong>”\n

    5. Then, click on “Manage Cities<\/strong>“. As shown in the below picture.<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em>\"\"<\/li>\n
    6. Choose the city. Example: “Cairo\/new-cairo”<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    7. Then, click on “Show Areas<\/strong>“\"\"<\/li>\n
    8. Select the area you wish to edit. Then, click on “Edit Area<\/strong>“.<\/li>\n
    9. Also, in case you didn’t find the area you serve in the provided list, you can click on “Add Area<\/strong>” to add a new one.

    10. Scroll down and start drawing your map. Check the GIF below<\/em>.<\/li>\n
    11. From the three icons, click on number 1<\/strong> on the right shown in the below picture to “draw a shape<\/strong>” specific points.<\/li>\n
    12. Click on number 2<\/strong>, the pin icon to select a pin<\/strong> for your store location.\"\"<\/li>\n
    13. Make sure the start point is the endpoint. So draw the area specifying each point for the routes.<\/li>\n
    14. Click on, “Save Changes<\/strong>“.

      A successful message will appear at the top of the page.<\/p>\n
